This guide is being rewritten to describe the site's current deployment pattern.

The earlier version documented how the site was originally built and had since drifted out of date — in places it was simply wrong — so it has been withdrawn rather than left published as a trap for anyone following it. The rewrite will appear here once it has been tested against the live setup, in keeping with the rule for every other guide on this site.
